An Open Reply to the "Incensed Conservative"
I got an interesting email today that I assume was also sent to the other members (official or otherwise) of Mark Coffey's "The Coalition of the Chillin'." Here it is in full:

Jeff MacMillan - May 30th, 2005
Hello member of the "Bend Over" Coalition,

I still remember and I will continue to remember the nimrod 7 that assaulted their base with the compromise, destroying the vote that we all were expecting and fought for.

It is so much fun to see that us conservatives are continually assaulted over and over again as a new BEND OVER conservative surfaces on the blog rolls.

The coalition of the "Bend Over" Club seems to think it was about everything and anything not having to do with the filibustering of Judicial nominees. This to me is the end product of our ignorant school systems not teaching people about basic, common, human decency. Our conservatives and myself fought for this filibuster vote.

I fought for it and I fought for it and I fought for it and I fought for it and you want to just bend over!?

Well you know what?? I CAN'T and I WON'T disrespect myself for a lousy political party.

But.. fine.. Your entitled to toss what's left of your human deceny out of the window.

Enjoy!

As far as I can make out, you've made no actual argument here. You're simply expressing disagreement in a somewhat vulgar, certainly disrespectful, manner. Unless you have some new, compelling argument to demonstrate that the Republican party got fleeced, I'd ask you not to waste my time. And if you do have such an argument, you're only undermining it by trying to make a political failing (if it is one) a matter of "human decency." It's called perspective; I suggest you accquire some of it.

A heated topic, to be sure, and one that threatens to divide conservatives. Tell me, Jeff; how has this sort of rigidity on controversial issues (such as abortion) benefitted the Democratic party over the last decade or so?

Anyone else who wishes to weigh in knows where to find me.
